What says Christmas more than a batch of homemade Egg Nog? Nothing, that's what! We figured we would mix up a batch using Pennington's Strawberry Rye and it was a hit! So, here's the recipe and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
4 eggs, divided
1/4 cup sugar, plus 1 tablespoon
1 cup cream
1 pint milk
1/2 cup Pennington's Strawberry Rye Whiskey
1 teaspoon freshly-grated nutmeg
Beat egg yolks and ¼ cup sugar on high with an electric mixer until creamy and set aside. Beat egg whites and remaining tablespoon of sugar on high with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
Whisk the Pennington’s into your egg yolks before adding milk, cream and nutmeg. Mix in whipped egg whites and chill well before serving.
NOTE: if you prefer a cooked egg version, bring your cream, milk and nutmeg to a boil and slowly whisk into your beaten egg yolks before adding Pennington's and egg whites.
